Located in the heart of Music Row, at 1008 17th Avenue South, you will find a recording studio with a great atmosphere for creativity. Bayou Recording, Inc. is a full-production facility that opened in May of 1998. The three founders all have many years of recording and music industry experience, and they combined their knowledge to create a user-friendly environment for everyone who records there.
George Clinton has been engineering for over 30 years, working with such acts as Booker T & The MGs, Isaac Hayes, Alabama, Charley Pride, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, KISS, Martina McBride, KT Oslin, Hank Williams Jr, and many others. George is also a producer and music publisher with several #1 songs to his credit.
Joe Spivey, session musician and fiddle player with John Anderson's band for more than a dozen years, has also performed on albums by Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Clay Walker and many others.
Kenny Beard is a singer/song writer who has written five #1 singles for Tracy Lawrence, as well as top hits for Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Clay Davidson, and Aaron Tippin, among others. These three longtime friends know what was needed to make Bayou a comfortable, affordable, and great sounding place to record in, for the musicians, writers, artists, publishers and others who enjoy working in the studio.
The large control room has all of the solid recording equipment, as well as Alesis Masterlinks, Uptown Automation, Antares vocal tuner, TC Finalizer, Quested and NS I OM monitors.
The huge studio area has plenty of open room, plus five isolation booths with Mackie Cue Mixers at each station, a Yamaha C-7 Grand Piano, Hammond B-3 Leslie organ, and a variety of great-microphones. With lots of space and all the comforts of home, Bayou also features a kitchen, lounge, televisions, copy and fax machines; and a warm and friendly staff.
